Dear family and friends, Hello! How are you? It has been another great week here in Maribago and we have had many challenges and successes. It is amazing that as we are willing, prepared and worthy of the Spirit. Miracles will happen as we believe and are obedient. I have had a great week, Sister Allen and I are learning many things and are doing all that we can to progress this work. A favorite miracle of mine this week is the Moreno family(3). We taught them all together last evening. It is very rare that we teach whole families. The Spirit was so strong, and we pray that they can recognize the truth and will be willing to act on their faith. “We can alter the face of the earth one family and one home at a time through charity, our small and simple acts of pure love.”—Sister Anne C. Pingree This week we had exchanges with the Sisters in Mandaue 1 (1), Sister Obedoza and I worked together. She is Sister Serapion's trainer and is doing her best. They are great missionaries and have peace in their companionship. One focus that they have had since this past transfer has been finding new investigators. They tend to go back to investigators who are not interested or have no potential to progress. Sister Obedoza is really great, her fear is in the first approach, especially in their area in Mandaue city. She is doing a great job and setting a good example for Sister Serapion. We also had exchanges with Lapu Lapu 1 Sisters (2). They both had a rough transfer with disobedient companions who were about to return home, so they are very happy to have each other now. They are diligent and obedient. Sister Reyes and Sister Capoy are so wonderful! One of their goals is to be dignified, true representatives of Jesus Christ. Sister Allen and I have had a goal this week to try something new... So we ate Avocado gelato! Haha! Honestly, much better than you would think! Try something new this week! Have a wonderful week in paradise! Sister Stanley |

Dear family and friends,
It has been a wonderful week here in Lapu Lapu. My new companion, Sister Allen is amazing. She is the most Christ-like missionary that I have been privileged to meet! We are both American and it is very nice to avoid the language and culture barrier that sometimes occurs in companionships. I love her very much and she is fluent in Cebuano, still one of my weaknesses. There is so much to learn from her and I am looking forward to it! I am finally feeling better from my sinus infection, it did get worse before it got better. Sister Allen is so patient! In the Lapu Lapu Zone Orientation, we really struggled to introduce the implementations because I lost my voice! But have no fear, it has again returned. I am grateful for Priesthood blessings, and cough drops this week. :-) All went well with transfers. With only a few days down, we haven't had much time to bond with the Sisters. For this coming week, we have transfers planned, so our report will contain more information. We will be sure to let you know of any concerns. In Lapu Lapu 1, Sister Capoy and Sister Reyes are happy together and are determined to be exactly obedient, diligent missionaries. In Lapu Lapu 2, Sister Gil and her trainee, Sister Arce are doing very well. We talked with them at the Zone Orientation on Friday. In Mandaue 1, Sister Obedoza and Sister Serapion are also doing well! They are in their second transfer together and are working very diligently. In Mandaue 4, Sister Delos Reyes and Sister Schroeder are very happy together as well. This is Sister Schroeder's first area in Cebu, so I know that she will learn so much from Sister Delos Reyes. We love them all so much! A favorite spiritual experience of mine this week, was as I was doing my best to study the Book of Mormon in Personal Study. I was feeling stressed and overwhelmed, not able to feel of the Spirit. After trying and trying, the words of the familiar hymn, "As I Search The Holy Scriptures", came into my mind. I got my hymn book out, read the words to myself and clearly felt the Spirit. I especially like the fourth verse, "As I search the holy scriptures, Help me ponder and obey. In thy word is life eternal; May thy light show me the way." I am so grateful! Nasayud ko nga si Jesukristo mao ang kahayag, ang kinabuhi, ug ang paglaum sa kalibutan. Ang Basahon ni Mormon mao ang Lain nga Tugon ni Jesukristo. May His light show us the way! Thank you! Have a wonderful week in paradise! Sister Stanley
Dear family and friends, Happy Independence Day! To celebrate, we are having a simple Sister's Activity on the beach in Lapu Lapu. The clouds are threatening to rain, but we will do our best! Maybe dancing a bit in the rain! Sister Mumu and I have had a wonderful week here in the Maribago Ward in Lapu Lapu, Cebu. As Sister Training Leaders, we conducted our last exchanges of the transfer. I worked with Sister Capoy and then Sister Gil. Sister Capoy is a natural teacher, and her language at home is Cebuano, so she is a very effective is proclaiming this restored gospel. She is also very strict in obedience, she sees a problem and is not afraid to fix it. Her goal is to develop her ability to build trust with the members, as well, develop her diligence. Her body gets tired very easily from the work because she is so small. Sister Gil is a wonderful missionary. She really has the wisdom and humility to follow the Spirit. She is doing her very best to be exactly obedient and it shows in her countenance. This Tuesday, she was sick, but we were able to offer help and be there to give instruction and comfort for her and her companion. We have many amazing missionaries here in the Cebu East Mission! Our area is also doing well, we have begun an implementation of emphasizing the Book of Mormon, to strengthen the active and less active members of our ward. It is still in the beginning stages, but we have a small fireside planned this coming Saturday to teach the ward missionaries to introduce and use the Book of Mormon in missionary work. We will let you know how it goes! We also had a baptism this past weekend for Federico. He is such a sweet spirit and was so ready to enter the waters of baptism. Before so, we were helping him practice his testimony. In Cebuano we say, "Nasayud ko nga..." Meaning, "I know in my heart that..." and adding a simple testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, His restored church, and His gospel. It is a good thing that we let him practice before, because he thought that bearing testimony is a time to confess sins! Oops! :-) We are seeing miracles here! Let us always remember in whom we have put our trust, our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is His work! Thank you! Have a wonderful week! Sister Stanley Dear family and friends, It has been another great week in paradise! (1) On Tuesday after the Farewell Conference for President and Sister Tanner, I had the opportunity to be companions with Sister Capoy in my last area in Lapu Lapu! By a small miracle, I got to see Arjean again! And many more friends, welcoming me back, although just for one evening. A short walk down memory lane in Timpolok! It really helped me to realize what extent simple acts of kindness touched each of their hearts. I never really said goodbye, hoping that way they wouldn't miss me. Maybe not my best idea. :-) (2) And for a happy one year, we traveled with our Maribago ward to the temple! With us, came Federico, Erwin, Joven, Flor and her children, Reah and Jerwin. A great group! We sat on the steps just as it began to rain! Federico is prepared to be baptized this coming Saturday! Short and sweet! A wonderful week! Please remember that it is the small things that add to create wonderful memories. Go forward with faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ! Mosalig sa Ginoo! Love always, Sister Stanley
