Dear family and friends,
Hello! Maayong hapon! Good afternoon! Kumasta ka? How are you? I hope and pray that all is well for you! Thank you so very much for your love and support. Although it has only been barely over 2 days, the MTC has already been a grand adventure and I am very excited for more!
Nothing can compare to the feeling of unity and love here in the MTC. Wearing my missionary nametag is so empowering! I love it! It really is a missionary paradise here! It feels like a dream! I feel very blessed to have P-day on a Friday, I got to go to the temple this morning for my sweet companion's first time through the temple. Her name is Sister Rasauliwa and she is absolutely amazing! She is from Fiji and because the Suva temple was closed for renovations, I got to accompany her to the Provo temple. I was her escort and I have never felt so proud in my life! The temple is my very favorite place on earth, and I feel very privileged to have gotten to go my first week! The Provo temple will be closed for the next two weeks, so when I arrived, I expected to have to be very patient as I waited for the opportunity to go as a missionary. May I just say that the Lord is absolutely aware of us and every desire that we have. He is in the details of our lives and wants us to have joy! There are tender mercies everywhere in our lives, we just have to stop and look for them. Speaking of which, Sister Rasauliwa and I stopped and smelled the roses at the temple today and they were beautiful!
I am sitting at a computer with my cute companion and other missionaries from my district. Seriously, it feels like a dream! Here at the MTC this week, they are having a Mission President conference with many general authorities. That means we have limited access to the main buildings and some meetings are moved around, but has been great! Jacob, guess what! They served us food from taco bell! Crazy, right? Learning Cebuano is going well, although, I have a lot of work to do. On the first day in class we learned how to testify, how to greet someone and how to pray. Honestly, the main three things that I was looking forward to! The spirit is strong here in the MTC. The next thing I am excited for is to get mail! The district leaders will deliver it for us tonight for the first time. Thank you, thank you! I will be honest, the scariest thing so far has been getting up to my wobbly top bunk! Haha! It is not very sturdy, but it is comfortable! Also, last night the sisters were called in for a meeting. We all expected it to be a special general authority address, but no, it ended up being an emergency meeting. We were informed that there were bats found in our residence building, so after one day, we had to pack again and carry our luggage to our new building! It was something like organized chaos, but everyone was willing to help. Tomorrow we are teaching our first investigator in Cebuano and I certainly hope it goes well. I know that as long as we are prepared, and have the spirit with us, it will be great! Of course, it isn't always sunshine and flowers, but I am so grateful to be here. It surely is a humbling experience!
Thank you! Have a wonderful week! Remember to look up! I love you!
With love,
Sister Stanley
