My family and friends,
Maayong hapon! I hope and pray that all is well for each of you and your families, and as well, that you are safe, happy, and finding joy in each day. It has been another great week in paradise! I am so very happy here in Lapu Lapu with Sister Nalawas. My love for her is overwhelming. Her humiliy, diligence, patience, and joy, make her who she is, an incredibly Christ-like missionary, and I feel privileged to serve as her companion. She is from Vanuatu, a French Polynesian island and she has been on her mission for 10 months! She speaks Bislama, some French and some English and now, Cebuano. We have been working very hard together for these past few days, and I foresee many miracles to follow. As two foreigners, we certainly stand out and I hope that we adequately represent Jesus Christ in sharing His gospel. We are unified in our desire to serve each other and the many wonderful people that we have to invite and help come unto Christ.
Sister Nalawas loves tracting as much as I do and we enjoy TC (testifying and contacting) to practice our Cebuano, and to gain new investigators. As well, we are building trust with the members and especially the leaders of our ward. Yesterday, we had our first MCM meeting in a long time, and the bishop, the ward mission leader and the many RMs here are supportive and willing to help us. We not have two progressing investigators with a baptismal date!! Arjean and Jevegail! Their baptismal date is February 27th and we are praying for all to continue well! The work is progressing here and we feel so blessed to be a part of it! As well, with the wonderful support of the ward, one wonderful sister in particular Mary Lou Talabon. She is 28 years old and is preparing to serve a mission of her own, so in her free time, she works with us. She is from Negros Occidental, Bacolod and is in Lapu Lapu attending school and working. She is wonderful and so incredibly caring for us as missionaries. The picture attached is blurry because my camera is broken, but it is of the three of us. I sure love Sister Nalawas and Sister Mary Lou. We smile and laugh, enjoying the rain and preaching the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.
We will continue to trust the Lord and press forward in this, the work of salvation. Take care! Mosilag sa Ginoo!
Love,
Sister Stanley
