Hello, to my dear family and friends! It has been another great week in paradise! To be perfectly honest, Sister Mumu and I forgot that it was Father's Day, until it was announced at the pulpit! I was sitting on the stand in Sacrament Meeting, prepared again to give a talk on missionary work. What a wonderful coincidence that exactly one year before, I was in the same position at my farewell, so far away, and ignorant to what miracles just one year of missionary service would bring. What a privilege and a blessing! Happy, Happy Father's Day! We began our week by attending district meeting in Mandaue, and serving our sisters there. Sister Mumu and I are the Sister Training Leaders for the Lapu Lapu and Mandaue Zones. We worked with them in their areas, to see for ourselves the concerns and challenges that they have. Then, we began exchanges! A great, learning experience! (1) After MCM, with our ward missionaries, we ate chicken curry with no utensils, just a plastic bag on our hand! Haha! Filipino style :-) (2) Sister Serapion and I, she is a brand new missionary and incredibly sweet! We had lots of fun while working together. (3) Sister Abundo and I, she is from Mindanao and was recently sealed to her family in the Cebu City Temple! It brings such truth to her testimony of the restored gospel. (4) Sister Asuncion and I, the kindest, most obedient missionary ever. She and her family are converts of three years, and she is so wise, even now, in her knowledge and understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have had a wonderful week, and I am so grateful for the joy that is ours through the gospel and Atonement of Jesus Christ. We can trust Him in all things, and we will be successful! Have another great week in paradise! Love, Sister Stanley |
