My dear friends and family,
Hello! My last week with Sister Lappay was wonderful! Here are some highlights: we went on an adventure to Tinibgan and taught Gloria Toloy, I ate squid, and crab - similar to Sebastian on the Little Mermaid (never again, haha!), we had a community service project to clear the overgrown land for the public cemetery, big knifes and bonfires were used, we taught the entire Abano family and the rain was so loud and hard on their tin roof, that as we knelt in prayer, it was impossible to hear, and afterwards, as it was getting dark, we made our way back to the highway on a trail full of deep muddy puddles! Great memories!
Many changes have occurred here in Calape this week and I am grateful! My new companions, Sister Mendoza and Sister Reyes teach me every single day. It is such a privilege to serve with such obedient missionaries. As well, personal weaknesses of mine are strengths of theirs! Especially diligent studying and teaching. It is a privilege to work with them!
With their help, I have realized many areas of improvement for the branch and the missionary work here in Calape. It helps to have a fresh perspective on these matters. Sister Mendoza is so wise, and already, I hope to become an effective missionary, who is led by the spirit as she is! My language skills and my courage are being put to the test, and improving each day! Sister Reyes has no fear, and is so confident with the truth of our message. Wow, with only a few days, she is excelling in Cebuano and in missionary life. I truly admire that! I am nowhere near perfect, but I am doing all that I can in leading the area and my patient companions are so willing to accept my best.
The work here will be more effective with their help. I am so grateful for the foundation of knowledge and experience that Sister Lappay has helped me build, as well as the opportunity to add more to my foundation with Sister Mendoza and Sister Reyes!
Thank you all! Have a wonderful week! Keep moving forward with faith in every footstep!
Love,
Sister Stanley
