My friends and family,
Maayong buntag! How are you and your families? Thank you for your kind emails, your faith in me, and for your prayers in our behalf. We are still seeing much success and many miracles here in Lapu Lapu.
We focused this week on trying to expand the area of our work, with teaching members in their homes, asking for referrals, and tracting near in their areas. At first, it didn't seem to be terribly effective. Almost a waste of time, but in our striving to follow the guidance of the Holy Ghost, I believe that we were able to contact a few of the Lord's elect. Yesterday, with the help of our ward missionaries, Sister Nalawas and I had splits. She contacted a family that we recently rediscovered, that had been visited before by the missionaries here, elders, early last year. With them, we have 4 new investigators and that includes the father, mother, 19 and 12 year old daughters, and not quite yet, their 7 year old son.
I, with Sister Echay, a ward missionary, contacted a bright 19 year old girl, who is sincerely searching for the truth. We met her earlier last week, and set a return appointment, for yesterday. Honestly, I had almost forgotten about our appointment, but through the guidance of the Lord, the earlier appointments that we had fell through and we made it to her home. She had been waiting for us to return. What an amazing experience! These are the Lord's elect and this is His work. I am so grateful to be a part of it, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be companions with Sister Nalawas. She is so humble, diligent, and strong, and I want to develop the amount of faith and hope that she has.
My testimony of the simple principles and doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ are deepening and my gratitude is ever increasing for the opportunity to serve as a missionary, and to come again to know the truth for myself.
Thanks again, ang tanan! Amping! I hope you each have another wonderful week in paradise, no matter what the weather is like! :-) Enjoy today! Mosalig sa Ginoo!
