Dear family and friends,
Happy Independence Day! To celebrate, we are having a simple Sister's Activity on the beach in Lapu Lapu. The clouds are threatening to rain, but we will do our best! Maybe dancing a bit in the rain! Sister Mumu and I have had a wonderful week here in the Maribago Ward in Lapu Lapu, Cebu. As Sister Training Leaders, we conducted our last exchanges of the transfer. I worked with Sister Capoy and then Sister Gil. Sister Capoy is a natural teacher, and her language at home is Cebuano, so she is a very effective is proclaiming this restored gospel. She is also very strict in obedience, she sees a problem and is not afraid to fix it. Her goal is to develop her ability to build trust with the members, as well, develop her diligence. Her body gets tired very easily from the work because she is so small. Sister Gil is a wonderful missionary. She really has the wisdom and humility to follow the Spirit. She is doing her very best to be exactly obedient and it shows in her countenance. This Tuesday, she was sick, but we were able to offer help and be there to give instruction and comfort for her and her companion. We have many amazing missionaries here in the Cebu East Mission!
Our area is also doing well, we have begun an implementation of emphasizing the Book of Mormon, to strengthen the active and less active members of our ward. It is still in the beginning stages, but we have a small fireside planned this coming Saturday to teach the ward missionaries to introduce and use the Book of Mormon in missionary work. We will let you know how it goes! We also had a baptism this past weekend for Federico. He is such a sweet spirit and was so ready to enter the waters of baptism. Before so, we were helping him practice his testimony. In Cebuano we say, "Nasayud ko nga..." Meaning, "I know in my heart that..." and adding a simple testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, His restored church, and His gospel. It is a good thing that we let him practice before, because he thought that bearing testimony is a time to confess sins! Oops! :-)
We are seeing miracles here! Let us always remember in whom we have put our trust, our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is His work! Thank you! Have a wonderful week!
