Hello, my dear family and friends!
Sa ugma, sa ugma! Tomorrow, tomorrow! I can hardly believe it! We spent most of the morning packing and things are coming together nicely with the Lord's help! We have been given a few minutes to email our families before leaving America... Now that is a crazy thought! Tomorrow we will fly to Tokyo and then to Manila. We are staying in the Manila MTC for 5 days! I think we might have the opportunity to attend the Manila Philippines temple!!! Also, I have been told that we will have the chance to practice 'contacting' outside of the MTC while we are there, it will be a great opportunity to exercise my faith and trust in the Lord because Tagalog is the language they speak in Manila and we learned Cebuano! :-) Kayanato! We can do it! With the Lord!
Last night President Russell M. Nelson came and gave a devotional. What a blessing it was! He spoke about us being "marvelous missionaries who are epistles of the Lord". He continued to teach us about how the Lord's purposes are always moving forward and that we much learn and understand the doctrine of Christ and the covenants for salvation. He said that we must have the doctrine of Christ written in our hearts, that we will be able to teach with conviction. How amazing is that challenge! Everyone can come to know of Christ by learning of Him, but it is even more significant for us to know Christ. To have a personal testimony that He lives. That through Him and by Him, with the Atonement, we are made able to become clean and pure. We are each on a journey to become as God is! Thank you for your courage and diligence! I am filled with gratitude!
Thank you for your constant love and support! I feel strengthened by each of your prayers on my behalf. Thank you! I love each of you! Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Sister Shanna Stanley
