My family and friends,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I am enjoying the holidays here in paradise, but I will admit, that sometimes I do miss the snow. Guess what, Rosalie and Reylan were married and baptized this past week in Calape! A Christmas miracle!
All is well, here in Lapu Lapu. I am so happy to be here, and I cannot believe how quickly the time goes by. I have one year left, and so much to learn! The gratitude I have for these experiences grows each day, and I am humbled to serve the Lord as His missionary. As well, my love and gratitude for Sister Cervantes is growing as well. Even with merely one week together, our trust is building and we have witnessed miracles together already!
We have five solid investigators now, although only one came to church yesterday. Sister Arjean is 12 and she is very prepared to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ, be baptized and continue in faith throughout her life. She attended church yesterday, all by herself, because her friend/fellowshipper was sick! It is amazing to see the Holy Ghost testifying of the truth to her and prompting her to act. Her older brother is a member, but less active, and her parents are non members. I see many amazing opportunities to help their family, and I think this is the first step. I can see their potential. This really is the Lord's work! It is amazing to witness!
We visited the Cebu City temple this past week in order to give our investigators a tour there. I surely love to see the temple. The overwhelming feeling of strength and peace is there, even just on the temple grounds. It really was the closest to home I have felt since arriving here in Cebu. The Eschaves family is pictured with us there. The father and two older daughters are members, although less active, and the mother and son are investigators. They are so full of faith and they want to be sealed as a family. Many miracles here. I am so grateful. As well, I hope that you see the miracles in your lives. I promise, they are always there.
Continue moving forward in faith! I love you all!
Love,
Sister Stanley
