My dear family and friends, It has only been a short time since my last email, and I am happy to say that I safely arrived here in Maribago, Lapu Lapu City, Cebu. The same zone that I came from in Lapu Lapu! Sister Mumu is really wonderful, my Sister Training Leader before, and I learn so much from her each day. She is from Fiji, is always happy, she reminds me of my dear friend Jenna, and this is her last transfer in the mission. I love her for many reasons, but I am especially grateful for her confidence in me in these new and challenging responsibilities to carry on as Sister Training Leader here once she returns home. She is determined to finish strong and I am very pleased to help her in that task. Also, she always says "Aye nako!", which exactly translates to "Oh my!" I think it is cute. :-) All is well here, there is added stress, but many opportunities to learn and grow. This afternoon, we are traveling to Liloan to attend an STL's meeting, and tomorrow morning, we will be traveling to Cebu City to attend the temple as leaders here in the Cebu East Mission. The temple session and the following Missionary Leadership Training, will be the last held with President and Sister Tanner. In July, we will be welcoming our new President and his wife. I feel so humbled and privileged to serve among these wonderful leaders as we hasten the work of the Lord. Our focus this this transfer as a Lapu Lapu Zone is working with members, in fellowshipping and in reactivation of in-active or less-active members. In 3 Nephi 18:32, "Nevertheless, ye shall not cast him out of your synagogues, or your places of worship, for unto such shall ye continue to minister; for ye know not but what they will return and repent, and come unto me with full purpose of heart, and I shall heal them; and ye shall be the means of bringing salvation unto them." We must remember that it is never too soon and never too late. We can become the means of again bringing salvation unto these precious souls. We can do it! We each play an important part! The pictures.. (1) Flor, our very kind, recently baptized member! She has never missed a Sunday of attending church since her friend invited her. (2) And this is our chapel in Marigondon, Lapu Lapu City. Some times I forget that I am in Asia.. But to me, this chapel looks very Asian! I love it! Thank you, thank you! I love you! Have a great week in paradise! Love, Sister Stanley |
