Hello, my friends and family!
Another great week in paradise! So many wonderful things happened this week! We are approaching Christmas (Paskua), and although it is a completely different feeling here, I am beginning to feel the spirit of Christmas. It is so warm, it is easy to forget the time of year! I had not before realized how closely cold snow, bright lights and Christmas were related in my mind, but it is not that, which we celebrate, but the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is constant in our lives, it does not depend on our location, when we remember Him, He is with us! What glad tidings of great joy!
Yesterday, we had our Branch Caravan activity with the members. Although only a few members attended to accompany us in teaching and reactivating less active members, we had great success! I worked with Sister Elsa, and we began with a plan, but I believe we were guided by the spirit. She had in mind a member family who has not attended church for a long time, the Membrebe family. We walked to their home, enjoying the view, and met Rosalia, her daughter Lolita, and her cute daughter, Mary Jane. Rosalia and Lolita were baptized many years ago, but have fallen away from the church. We taught Mary Jane, who is ten years old, the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and Rosalia prayed for us. The spirit was there. We invited them to our Calape Branch Christmas party and they committed to attend! I truly felt like an instrument in the hands of the Lord. It is such a privilege to be a missionary! Many miracles can result from this act of reaching out to those who are lost. This truly is the Lord's work!
We are now emailing in Tubigon. This morning, we did Yoga with Sister Bell for our Sister's activity. Quite a challenge with my arm, but it was an enjoyable challenge! Then Sister Mendoza, Sister Reyes, and I went to the apartment of Sister Tahaffe and Sister Samoya for lunch. They are incredibly hospitable!
Have a wonderful week! I am so grateful for each of you! Take care! Amping!
Love,
Sister Stanley
