Hello! Maayong buntag! Good morning!
We have had a successful week, although the work has been slow. Each day it is easier to get around and Sister Lappay and I will soon be back to our faster paced working schedule. The baptism of sweet Irish Illustracimo is coming up on Saturday, October 3rd! We have been able to take this week and focus on our investigators preparing for baptism. We believe that she is prepared! It is my first baptism in the field and I feel very privileged to be a part of it!
We are also working with the Toloy family as they prepare for baptism. This past week, Gloria Toloy and her youngest children left and returned to their old house. We were confused as to why, and we got conflicting information from her teenage son about exactly when and if she will return. Their old house is very far away, farther than we have ever traveled and Sister Lappay feels that we need to wait until I am well, to try. According to her son, Gerald, they will be returning this evening, so our plan is to teach them tonight and make sure everything is okay!
General conference is coming soon! The most wonderful time of the year! Ours is one week behind, so this weekend is our General Women's meeting. We are excited to invite all of our friends in the church! As I have been preparing for conference, I have enjoyed studying again the words of our prophet and apostles from this past conference. Most recently, I studied a talk by President Eyring, Priesthood and Personal Prayer. It is about the priesthood, but it applies to everyone! Even Sister Missionaries! In it he said this, "All of us must speak and act in the name of God in moments when our unaided judgment will not be enough without inspiration. Those moments can come upon us when there is not time to make preparation." WOW! How true is that! The same applies to each of us. The simple tasks that we accomplish each day, such as personal prayer and study of the scriptures, really add up! Without us even realizing it! With them, we can be always prepared.
All is going well here, thank you for your faith and prayers. I am learning and realizing the necessity of the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost for guidance and protection. That is the way we can fully accomplish our missionary purpose! Please have a great week and enjoy general conference! I love you all!

PS: The picture is terrible quality, but we had a branch Family Home Evening! It was great! A very authentic Philippine FHE. :-)
