Happy Valentine's Day ang tanan! My heart is full of love for each of you, and I am very grateful to have spent my day here, testifying of our Savior's love. We had a wonderful week, and many occasions to laugh. I wish the same for each of you! Thank you!
The week started when we contacted two referrals from our kind friend, Sister Dumanjog. They are Jehovah's Witnesses and because Sister Dumanjog used to be a Jehovah's Witness, she is the perfect person to fellowship them. Sister Delia and her daughter, Melba are so kind and very bright. It is quite a challenge to teach them, with their many questions, and their use of Tagolog, but I can testify of the gift of tongues. It is amazing, even the fact that we can understand them, and teach the doctrine and principles of the gospel in a way that they understand. We will trust in the Lord and continue in faith. After spending time building trust with them, and as well, contacting their close friends to also receive the gospel of Jesus Christ, we learned that we had accidentally "trespassed" into the area of the 2nd ward missionaries. Oops! Haha! We decided to laugh, rather than feel sad about our mistake. No matter where we are, we must share this glorious message. And at least now we know the real boundary! :-)
Aduna'y pa mga milagro, Brother Aboy and his son, George attended church yesterday, and their family accepted the invitation to be baptized. Sister Arjean and Sister Jevegail are continuing to progress and deepen their testimonies of the truth as they prepare for their baptism. We are all looking forward to it!
Earlier this week, Sister Nalawas showed me this quote when we were feeling a bit discouraged, to deepen our hope in Christ. I think it is so powerful!
"Press forward implies something more than simply going forward. Press implies something is preventing your advancement, and you must push through it. To go forward in this life, you must press temptations aside, press through obstacles, press the doubt and the fear under your feet, and embrace the divine qualities of faith, hope, and love." - Elder Neil L. Andersen
Remember always the love that our Savior, Jesus Christ has for us. Let us continue forward in faith, and choose to laugh, because only He is perfect! I love you all! Mosalig sa Ginoo!
Love,
Sister Stanley
PS, I apologize that my camera is still broken, but here is a picture of Sister Cervantes and I doing the laundry of a member who was sick and unable. She was so shy to have us help, but of course, we were happy to. Haha, we do our own laundry this way as well! It is a great experience!
